Mother of Renowned Islamic Author Yasmin Mogahed Passes Away

The mother of the world-renowned Islamic author and motivational speaker, Ustadha Yasmin Mogahed, has passed away.

In a deeply moving social media post, Yasmin Mogahed shared that her mother returned to Allah during the Fajr prayer time in the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah. She noted that this was the exact same sacred time of day that her father had also passed away previously.

Her mother passed away at dawn on the day before the blessed Day of Arafah—a time when Muslims from all corners of the globe gather on the plains of Arafah, raising their hands in supplication.

Yasmin expressed that following the news of her mother’s passing, she received countless messages from people worldwide praying for her mother from the holy lands. She shared that this brought a profound sense of awe, leaving her speechless at the magnitude of Allah’s mercy.

Describing her mother, Yasmin painted a picture of a principled woman who remained steadfast in serving those in need. She remarked that today, at the very moment her mother needed help the most, the global Muslim community responded by lifting her up in their prayers.

Highlighting this as a beautiful reflection of the unity of the Muslim Ummah—where if one part of the body aches, the whole body responds—Yasmin expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made Du’a for her beloved mother.
